The Brazilian System of the Forum of Digital Terrestrial TV (SBTVD) approved last week during a meeting of the Board, the adoption of a third version of Ginga software tool that will enable the interactivity of TVs that receive digital signals.
In comparison with the other versions (Ginga A and B), Ginga C will, and greater data storage capacity – especially applications and multimedia files – a hardware structure that will put you in connection with conditions Internet in invisible network, called Wi-Fi.
The Brazilian digital TV is part of Brazil 4D Project, which is coordinated by Brazil Communications Company (EBC). Through televisions with Ginga software installed, citizen access to public information and services will be possible. The idea is to bring this tool to about 14 million families benefiting from the Bolsa Familia program, for example.
Part of the costs will rise as the approximately R $ 3.6 billion in proceeds as a way to compensation paid by mobile phone companies that won the tender of the 700 Mhz band.
Among the benefits provided by the equipment are the possibility of consultations on jobs, job training and public services in the areas of hail education, security and transport, and banking.
