Rio hosts I Symposium on Improving Software Testing – National Insurance Portal

 HI Symposium on Improved Testing Process aims to disseminate the Improvement Model Test (MPT), managed by Softex Recife (Association for Promotion of Brazilian Software Excellence). The event will show that the implementation of software testing can be improved through the use of a model for process improvement.

 

 Will be described briefly the operation of the model and companies that already use, show how it helped in their goal of testing the software properly. Tests performed correctly represent a significant cost reduction since the occurrence of defects in production decreases. Defects cost about 100 times more to be fixed than when agreed, while the software is in development.

 

 The MPT was built with the concept of levels of maturity. Organizations can deploy the first level and seek new levels, increasing its capacity. The MPT ensures software quality. Companies that have implemented the model as ECO Systems and iTeste were invited. Speakers include Mark Gomes (Softex Recife), Larissa Araujo (ECO Systems), Ricardo Cristalli (iTeste), Ana Regina Rocha (Coppe UFRJ) and Emerson Rios (Riosoft).

 

 Emerson Rios of Riosoft and one of the organizers of the event, reveals that only 30 companies nationwide have the certification of implementation of MPT. According to him, the existence of MPT is still young – about two years. So it is still in presenting its advantages.

 

 Under the organization and sponsorship of Riosoft ECO Systems, the symposium will bring together experts in the Test Process Improvement and technology professionals interested in the topic. One of the interesting approaches is the different possibilities of implementation of MPT, and a proposal for harmonizing the MPS.Br ((Improvement of Brazilian Software Process).
