The Energcalc software, which calculates the metabolizable energy in experiments with pigs and poultry, was released on Friday (04/12) by Embrapa Swine and Poultry Concordia (SC), decentralized drive agricultural research company under the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Supply. The program can be downloaded for free at www.cnpsa.embrapa.br/energcalc address where the user need only fill out a registration.
“The metabolizable energy from food is important information for formulating rations for poultry and swine. These values are determined in metabolic assays in which is measured the consumption of a reference diet and a test diet and excretion of nutrients and energy not used by the animals fed these diets. Through laboratory energy analysis gross, nitrogen and dry matter, you can calculate the energy utilization of diets and food testing, “says researcher Fernando Tavernari, an author of the Energcalc side Geordano Dalmédico the analyst, the Information Technology Center.
The software standardizes the calculations, requiring only the insertion of the data obtained in the experiment and evaluated in the laboratory, which ensures the results and makes more accurate comparison.
