Samsung joins the open source software – Blasting News

Many multinational technological branch companies are already opting for software open source as a way to control costs. We have now had the news that the Samsung will present in 2015 its smart TVs with the software Tizen , which is based on Linux. In addition to cost reduction, the South Korean giant no longer wishes to be totally dependent on the operating system Google Android . Speaking about this project, the deputy chief executive of Samsung, Lee Won-Jin said that “the construction of intelligent platform based on Tizen is a step towards an integrated system more innovative and intelligent.”

The Samsung is working directly with the US multinational Intel in the development of Tizen platform. The aim is that the platform can later be included in many other devices , such as mobile phones, appliances and cameras. The first of this new range of smart TVs will be presented by Samsung over the next week at the International Consumer Electronics Fair in Las Vegas.

The main features of these new smart TVs, and that can differentiate in market, are linked to three main groups: The easy through a redesigned interface, in which the content presented will be defined by the user. The Wi-Fi Direct technology and connectivity for Bluetooth will allow automatic connection of multiple devices and the exchange of information between them, allowing up to move to a smartphone what is being broadcast on any channel.

Entertainment was also not forgotten and will in fact be an asset. In these new TVs will be possible to access the PlayStation Now, the streaming service from Sony games. Just use a dual-shock control to have fun, without having to purchase any console itself for this purpose.

A wide range of options will allow these televisions to have a flexibility use. The compatibility of the Tizen with other gadgets will allow control of any “smart home” through these new TVs. Thus Samsung aims to revolutionize the entertainment through their TVs.
