Visa launches open platform for software developers and … – Techworld

Called Visa Developer, program releases APIs of popular services and technologies for developers Visa

Aware of the emerging market Fintechs, Visa launches a program for software developers and applications. Named Visa Developer , the program makes the open payment network to third and was released on Thursday (04/02).

Initially, the program gives access to some the most popular services and Visa technologies such as authentication of cardholders, P2P payments (people to people) and security services for payments in physically and online, such as Visa Checkout, currency translation and transaction alerts. Visa said it expects to provide access to more payment resources during the next year.

“The Visa Developer is not just a new point of access to our network, but also a new global distribution platform of products and services for Visa,” said Charlie Scharf, CEO of Visa Inc.

in recent months, financial institutions, technology companies and startups participated in beta testing the Visa Developer. These include Capital One, Emirates NBD, Facebook and National Australia Bank (NAB) that created application prototypes using Visa technology.

According to Visa itself, creating the platform lasted a few years and was carried out through an initiative led by the product teams and the company’s global technology.

This team was responsible for transforming the suite of products and Visa services APIs (Application Programing Interface) standard technology used by developers to build software and applications.
