AMD announced on Monday the Radeon Software , its new suite of completely redesigned and reconfigured drivers, based on its predecessor Catalyst . It is speculated that the launch issue of the Radeon Crimson Edition , the first version of the software, will be on 24 November. The new tool was developed by Radeon Technologies Group , a recent division of the company that is focused on vertical development to all that is related to graphics. The company also features a completely new user interface, called Radeon Settings.
After the success of Catalyst, which had more than one billion downloads in its 13 years of software , the Crimson Edition comes as first product for the new division of AMD and will be used in the 2015/2016 period. The company’s segment responsible for developing the Software Radeon is solely dedicated to graphics and existing technologies illustrations APUs from AMD GPUs and computing products.
Assuming that this first version to be released on November 24, the nomenclature software updates will remain as it was usual at Catalyst. This version is coming out in November will have the naming schema 15:11 (15 = year; = 11 months). And so for their updates. It is also speculated that the updates are released regularly every launch of AAA games or to add bug fixes as usual.
The issue Crimson Edition come with a cleaner design and also features a faster boot time (up to 10x faster) than Catalyst Control Center. For example, the CCC AMD takes an average of 8 seconds to start, while the Radeon Settings need only only 0.6 seconds to start.
