Volkswagen says in engine software is not considered … – Administrators

The engine authority Germany does not consider problematic the use of software in diesel V6 3-liter Volkswagen, who US officials say were used to cheat on air pollution tests, said the head of VW in Britain on Tuesday .

 

Last week, the Bureau of the US Environmental Protection said that Volkswagen has used devices to cheat the tests in their most luxurious vehicles, expanding the scandal that has reached millions of smaller diesel engines.

 

In a letter to British parliamentary committee released on Tuesday, the managing director of Volkswagen in Britain said the German engines authority saw no problems with the software in Europe.

“We have just received confirmation that the KBA does not consider the use of this technology in the European Union as problematic and therefore is in line with current legislation,” wrote Paul Willis.

 

The KBA was not immediately available for comment when contacted by Reuters.
