PUC-RS: Software Engineering – Baguette (press release)

From the vestibular summer 2015 which takes place in December, PUC-RS offers more option of course: Software Engineering. Classes will take place at the Faculty of Informatics (Facin) over eight semesters, the afternoon shift (17:35 to 22:45).

According to the professor of the course coordinator, Marcelo Yamaguti, the professional will primarily focus on the differential development of applied software process and will be able using processes, methods and Information (IT) Technology tools to produce software in a systematic and effective way.

The curriculum provides an overview of the fundamentals of computing and in-depth analysis of aspects such as programming, project management and quality management.

“The IT market has shortage of professionals qualified and anticipated demand for the coming years is to increase this deficiency. The employment of these professionals is very high, “says Yamaguti.

Students will develop their activities in an Experimental Agency, which will provide real situations of projects and the experience of challenges that will be encountered in the labor market.

In addition to the new Bachelor of Engineering Software, Facin offers three courses in: Computer Science, Information Systems and Computer Engineering.

There is another course in IT, the bacheralado Administration with training in IT management, linked to the College of Business Administration, Accounting and Economics. Altogether, PUC-RS has about 30,000 students and offers 51 undergraduate courses.

Last week, the University of Passo Fundo (UPF) also announced it will offer the course in Engineering computing from next summer college entrance. . Then, the graduate will have duration of 10 semesters

Two other universities offering the course in Rio Grande do Sul. UNIPAMPA in Bage, and Univates in Paved

In Brazil according to the website and MEC-18 universities already have training in Software Engineering.
