Ministry of Planning, Budget and Management (MP) aired today the new version of the Brazilian Public Software Portal (SPB) , a site that offers access to open source software solutions developed by government agencies, academia or programmers.

The site began to be reformed in 2013 and received over 200 contributions from the company to its final version. The idea is for it to be used by managers, businesses and citizens as a sharing platform software solutions for different areas and economic vertical, referenced by use of the LPM seal.
Currently the website has 67 solutions available, ranging from systems for managing fleets and issuers for Electronic Invoice until packet enterprise resource planning (ERP). The software is divided into categories such as Economy, Health, Education, Business Administration, Communications, Energy and Sanitation.
“We have established a new conceptual model for the portal launched in 2007. The available solutions serve to simplify public management, reduce costs and meet Brazilian needs, “explains Cristiano Heckert, Secretary of Logistics and Information Technology of MP information. The secretary highlights the tool that enables collaborative software development as one of the main innovations of the SPB. “In this environment you can join the work of different actors towards a solution that meets various public agencies,” Heckert said.
One of the Brazilian Public Software aims is to reduce public expenditure on purchase software. According to Instruction No. 04, 222 entities part of the Management of Information Technology Resources System (SISP) should identify the solutions available on the SPB meet the desired requirements before making an acquisition Information Technology and Communications (ICT).
Last week, the Department of Logistics and Information Technology (SLTI) performed the migration work of the major ancient site content. News and developer forums and supporters of this public policy are available for search and reading in the new SPB.
