More than 2 million Audi vehicles with ‘software’ which falsifies … – Observer

The Audi said today that 2.1 million of its diesel vehicles worldwide are equipped with the ‘software’ which falsifies the results of anti-emissions tests, designed by the parent company Volkswagen.

In Germany alone, 577,000 vehicles were affected and the United States 13,000 cars, said a spokesman for Audi to the France Presse news agency.

The Volkswagen triggered last global outrage week when he admitted 11 million diesel cars worldwide are equipped with so-called deactivation devices that enable pollution controls during the tests, but turns off automatically when the car is driving.

The scandal spotted name of Volkswagen, leaving it exposed to billions of dollars in fines in the United States, with research from Norway to India, which devalued the company a third of its value on the stock market in a week.

On Friday, after a marathon crisis meetings, the Supervisory Board of the global car market leader appointed President of Porsche, Matthias Mueller to replace Martin Winterkorn as CEO of the German group.

The German authorities have established a schedule until 07 October requiring the Volkswagen group to ensure by that date that all diesel cars comply with national emissions standards without using technology that defrauded the test results.

In today’s stock market session, shares of auto giant Volkswagen continued to slide nearly 7%.
