Company acquired by Apple have software that “reads” emotions … – Look Digital

Apple acquired this week to Emotient, a company specializing in artificial intelligence San Diego in the United States, which has a technology capable of detecting emotions by analyzing the facial expressions of people.

When asked, the company confirmed the acquisition but declined to provide details about the transaction. “We buy smaller technology companies from time to have and usually do not discuss our purpose or plans.”

Other recent acquisitions may give a clue of Apple’s plans for the future. In recent months, the company bought Faceshift, which has a technology that captures the movement and analyzes the user’s face, and Perceptio focused on deep learning to recognize images.
