Riverbed acquires specialized German company on defined network … – IT Forum 365

Riverbed Technology announced new purchase. The company once was the Ocedo, German provider of networking solutions defined by software and SD-WAN (WAN defined by software. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

According to a statement issued by the company, acquisition strengthens Riverbed’s strategy to deliver network solutions defined by the next generation of software that provide superior performance application and business agility for hybrid environments companies. “The acquisition of the company will expand and accelerate the delivery of these solutions to customers, creating new growth opportunities for Riverbed and its partners, “says the manufacturer.

SD-WAN solutions streamline and simplify the way the hybrid WANs are deployed and managed, enabling IT to deliver applications hosted locally or in the public cloud with speed and ease.

The companies report that the acquisition strengthens the Tiger Project Riverbed, announced last year, in which Riverbed plans to bring to market a new set of solutions SD- WAN that will eliminate the need for traditional routers branches, allowing supply and zero-touch management cloud-based and will be based on a new operating platform software that enables greater agility in services and applications.

Riverbed plans to launch an SD-WAN initial solution in the first quarter of 2016 to complement and expand its application performance platform.
