Software does consumerization entity discuss SaaS in Brazil – Digital Convergence

The ABES (Brazilian Association of Software Companies) announces the creation of a committee focused on the needs of the Brazilian market in relation to the SaaS marketing model. – Software as a Service (Software as a Service)

The new group aims to identify best practices, foster innovation and guide companies interested in migrating their solutions to the selling format as a service. The organization also aims to develop a certification that demonstrates the maturity of software companies in relation to SaaS.

According to Carlos Sacco, Marketing Director of ABES, thanks to the explosion of mobility, the current ‘consumerization’ of software has brought thousands of new developers, new forms of delivery, high scale, low prices and directly impacted professionals and companies in the sector.

“With this new scenario, manufacturers and developers need a quick and thorough strategic repositioning to understand and learn to stand on issues related to governance, application architecture, coding, reset costs, pricing, consumer behavior analysis and market dynamics, “said Carlos Sacco.

The first activity of the Committee will be a survey of members to identify the maturity of both the company be prepared for the cloud business model – which among other things substantially changes the cash flow – as the solutions offered, from a technical point of view.

The coordinator of the Committee, Lauro de Freitas, CEO of Dualtec explains that in addition to making the reference entity in the market about the best SaaS practices and support members in the process of transition from on-premise business model to SaaS, the group aims to create a certification that demonstrates the maturity of software companies in relation to this new model.

“With this certification, our goal is to educate the market and the particularities of this business model, thereby ensuring that the contractor make the choice by a supplier who follow best practices and standards for SaaS, “says Lauro.
