 Apple and Samsung

The field Internet of Things should get a new operating system open source in a not so distant future. The novelty is being developed by Samsung .

Still unnamed, the system should have multiple applications on a daily basis, working on wearables, industry equipment or even helping in household chores. It will help the user to perform the most diverse tasks, such as, for example, open a door at a preset time, turn on the oven when the householder is approaching the place, or even increase and decrease the intensity of the lights of a residence depending on time of day.

Another speculation is that the new OS can also allow, based on data on safety and environment analysis taken from Samsung’s cloud platform (SAMI), the system to perform tasks such as connecting an air conditioning taking into consideration meteorological data collected. Also, for the system to function satisfactorily it needs to process data in real time without virtual delays.

One point that justifies the decision of Samsung to develop the operating system as open source is that this increases the likelihood of it being adopted by the technological community, and allow the system to integrate better with mobile devices.

this improved operability between devices is an important point for Samsung, which is already facing problems with Android in this regard, with the system having chips compatibility problems and software updates. The platform can also be compatible with other systems that have the same purpose as the Brillo, Google, and the mbed, the ARM .

There is also a chance of this system becoming a version of Tizen , which is already used in smartwaches and TVs. More information about the SO should be disclosed in April, the Samsung Developer Conference, which takes place in San Francisco, USA.
