The Swedish company Semcon announced that it will develop much of an autonomous driving software for vehicles in its Brazilian subsidiary, located in Piracicaba, São Paulo.
A branch of choice in the country is no accident, as the autonomous driving global program was commissioned by an automaker, the technology company does not reveal what it is. However, there is interest from Semcon Innovation in Auto-credits to lower technology development costs.
The company works with 10 experts working on the project in Brazil and four in Europe. For Semcon, spread the development of new technologies will reduce costs, since it’s hard to get it that way in Europe.
For now, globalization allows the use of trained manpower and cost savings. As autonomous driving needs a good infrastructure, Europe is able to start the process, but in a limited way, Brazil could also benefit.
The software promises to integrate cameras, sensors, radar, electronic devices, control modules, actuators, and other existing devices. As for the company, Semcon gives nothing away, but at least one brand presence in Brazil walked testing the autonomous driving around here, which is the Volvo with the Drive Me
