A flaw in the software of the Electric Energy Trading Chamber (CCEE) made energy trading companies improperly earned R $ 100 million in the last eight months. The additional amount was charged on electricity bill for residential and business customers.

The CCEE, private entity responsible for monitoring and recording the electrical sector contracts, only realized the error in November.
