Sony Computer Entertainment and Sony Network Entertainment have been merged, creating a new company called Sony Interactive Entertainment.
This will cause divisions hardware, software and network are together under the same roof. The new company will start on the 1st of April and will be headquartered in San Mateo, California, while the “key global operations” will also be coordinated in Tokyo and London.
The EIS will be led by the President and Global CEO Andrew House, which detailed the merger in a statement.

The current president and CEO of SCEA, Shawn Layden, will now oversee the Sony Worldwide Studios. On Twitter, the President of Worldwide Studios, Shuhei Yoshida, confirmed the position of Layden but that his chairman title still intact.
With regard to what these changes mean for the PlayStation brand, will be revealed over time.
