Gearbox Software creates concept for new game Duke Nukem – IGN Brazil

The CEO of Gearbox Software, Randy Pitchford revealed that the studio created a concept for a new game in the Duke Nukem franchise.

During a panel at the Develop Conference, Pitchford explained that he did not guarantee Duke Nukem license simply to release Duke Nukem Forever.

“I got the franchise only to can appreciate Duke Nukem Forever. It was just kind of toll to take a chance on Duke. That said, I liked that game, “he said. “I saw it from a different perspective and it was wonderful for me.”

“We did some concepts [ for a new game ] and the challenges are there. The Gearbox is very busy . The fastest way would be that another developer was interested and we could work together But I will say one thing. when it happens, there is no doubt that the whole industry will pay attention [ the project ]. “

” Calling attention is one of the hardest things to achieve. In fact, it’s probably the biggest challenge [ Duke Nukem ] Forever had. For 10 years, these guys promised would be the best game of all time, right? He had all this expectation that made him three or four times more famous than Borderlands as a franchise. Not necessarily the gamer perspective that is connected in occurring in the industry, but certainly in community as a whole. ”

Duke Nukem Forever was released in 2011 after 15 years of gestation and received critical that classified as poor or average.
