The first Digital City to rely on the i-Educate application to improve school management is Viçosa do Ceará in Ceará Northwest. Developed by Data Processing Federal Service (Serpro), the system assists in the collection and monitoring of educational data, such as enrollment, evasions students, student performance, registration of schools and teachers, among others.
With the use of i-Educate, management reports and data required by the Education Ministry to release of funds can also be obtained in real time.
To ensure the implementation and application health, experts from the Ministry of Communications and Serpro will train the municipal staff for a week from this Monday (31).
According to the Digital Inclusion Infrastructure coordinator for the Ministry of Communications, Eloá Matthew, 32 digital cities have already applied for the application. She notes that the service generates no cost to the municipality.
i-Educate
Developed by Itajaí City Hall (SC), the i-Educate works as a free software available on the Portal of the Brazilian Public Software and as a modular platform entries, functions and school services.
The software also standardizes access and the movement of students and staff, as well as the issuing of official documents such as newsletters, certificates and historical.
Digital Cities
The Digital Cities program aims to modernize the municipal public administration, increase people’s access to public services and promote the development of Brazilian municipalities through technology.
In addition to the fiber optic ring network of Digital City allows installation of equipment and software, technical support and applications in health, education and financial and tax management (such as I-educate), and free points wi-fi for the population.
Launched in 2012, the Digital Cities program included 80 municipalities in the first selection and the following year, to be built by the Growth Acceleration Program (PAC 2), selected other 262 towns with less than 50,000 inhabitants.
