Both programs refer intend to introduce software development in the curriculum of schools for compulsory education. The idea is not new and has been suggested insistently by several experts, even as a way of promoting interest in engineering areas.

The party led by António Costa openly supports the intention to review the discipline ICT and also wants to promote the use of ICT in schools “since early”.

The dematerialisation of more educational services also has space on campaign promises.
