Government: Autoeuropa ensures that cars do not have software … – Economic

“The vehicles produced in Portugal in the last year, did not have the incorporation of this ‘kit’ fraudulent,” said Thursday António Pires de Lima, Minister of Economy.

“This was the information given to us by AuroEuropa “added Pires de Lima in the usual press conference after the Council of Ministers.

At issue is the prosecution that has already been made on Volkswagen, BMW and that of Seat introduced a ‘software’ altering the emission of greenhouse gases in environmental testing, which has led to heavy losses in the automotive sector in the stock market and could result in the payment of substantial fines.

It was first Volkswagen to be US accused of tampering with the engine performance in terms of emissions, facing a fine of up to to 18 billion (approximately EUR 15.9 billion). Following this controversy, the CEO of Volkswagen resigned.

When it seemed that the controversy was slowing down, today came the suspect through the ‘Auto Bild’ magazine, specializing in cars, which also BMW X3 xDrive 20d, exceeded European standards Euro 6 emissions during road tests the International Council on Clean Transportation (ICCT) for more than 11 times. Bloomberg advances the ICCT is the same group that led investigations in the US and discovered the fraud in VW cars.

However, “El Pais” reported that too at Seat, the Spanish brand of the German group Volkswagen, installed in more than half a million cars the ‘software’ which is distorting the greenhouse gas emissions.
