Software that FBI used to unlock iPhone works only on … – Tecmundo

The controversy is already going on for some time. In mid-February, the FBI asked for help to Apple, saying the company should develop a software capable of hacking the iPhone Syed Farook – one of San Bernardino shooters. Based on rights laws on privacy, Apple and several other companies have expressed contrary to the US federal police request.

This dispute was followed by the end of March, when came the information that the FBI would be very close to making the unlocking and, shortly after, when it was finally revealed that the agents actually managed the feat. But only now is it appeared the first information as would have been done this release. More than that, it was revealed that the FBI should not be able to repeat the feat in any device.

You can not use the same software on other devices

according to what was published by TechCrunch, FBI agents themselves say that you can not use the same software in other cases. The agents do not make clear what was the system used in the process, but revealed that bought the solution of “an external private company” that could not be disclosed.

However, there is the report that the system works only iPhone 5c – model used by Syed Farook. It was revealed the reason for this and support for iOS 9 is no longer a possibility. Currently, the most striking speculation is that the system will only serve to unlock without Touch ID devices because of some security lock. Will we ever complete technique will be revealed?
