Amazon automates software updates in Europe – Computerworld Portugal

The IT team can use the CodeDeploy to update applications running on its own data center and Amazon cloud

 AWS

Amazon Web Services has expanded the data center in Europe the availability of their service CodeDeploy to automate software updates.

The service is being promoted as a way to end up with what Amazon calls the error-prone manual operations, when it launched new features and applications in their cloud or on enterprise data centers.

The expanded availability for AWS data center in Ireland should improve performance and probably earn more companies that want to run all its local infrastructure. So far, the CodeDeploy was only available from the US

To use the service, administrators have to specify the files to be copied and the “scripts” to perform in each instance during installation.

Still, the CodeDeploy offers a lot of flexibility. It has a programming language agnostic architecture, and there are agents for Linux Amazon’s own, Ubuntu Server and Microsoft Windows Server. For organizations that want to use it with other operating systems, it is available as open source software
