CA buying Rally Software for $ 480 million and advances in … – Computerworld

The CA Technologies is expanding its operations in desenvolvilmento agile software field with the purchase announced today the development tools and services company Rally Software. The transaction amount is $ 480 million and the CA expects to complete the purchase until September.

The Rally technologies will be integrated into the portfolio of tools and services for managing projects CA. The Rally has software and cloud services that enable software development teams manage complex projects with collaboration tools, management, analysis and diagnosis and integration platforms.

The difference is that the Rally has shaped its products to work in agile development environments in which teams of developers work collaborative way to build applications with more speed. This is an expanding market. According to a recent Forrester survey with 560 IT decision makers, two-thirds of companies surveyed said they will invest or already invest in the use of agile programming methodologies.

Headquartered in Boulder, Colorado (USA) and founded in 2001, the Rally has more than 11,500 employees in 45 countries. In its last fiscal year had revenue of 87.5 million dollars. Among its clients are companies such as defense contractor Raytheon, Comcast cable company, and EMC.
