Embedded software presents business opportunities, says … – IT Forum 365

Mobile applications and the rapid growth of the Internet of Things (IoT, its acronym in English) are opening opportunities for Independent Software Vendors (ISV, its acronym in English) in countries like Brazil, Mexico, Columbia and Chile . That’s what Matthew believes Gharegozlou, vice president for Latin America Progress .

For the executive of software company, while large suppliers software should focus on infrastructure software offering, small and medium enterprises focused on Application Development , miram important business niches, such as software “embedded” to products ranging from doors and curtains to smart cars controllers, sportswear with corporal performance gauges and quality controllers in industrial machinery.

The embedded software market potential is great. According to data from BBC Research, the embedded software market will reach this year $ 4.9 billion in revenue, reaching $ 7.5 billion already in 2019.

In assessing the Gharegozlou, and increase the prospects for revenues from ISVs, this market phenomenon is demanding vision changes and mode of operation of ISVs. According to him, entres visible consequences are great adherence by ISVs to application platforms as a service ( aPaaS ) and cloud software tools available in environments like Amazon Web Services (AWS) and the HP OpenStack.

Gharegozlou also points out that the change in the software industry is still forcing a current review of business practices by ISVs who need to prepare their workforces for the new market requirements.

Today, says the executive, professional developers need to broaden their skills to understand the new environment multidevice and agnostic and adapt their applications to the coexistence of cloud to traditional IT infrastructure at home. According to him, this movement of adaptation is already happening at an accelerated rate, but still not enough to meet the strong market demand.
