Allegorithmic: software in Feevale and PUC-SP – Baguette (press release)

The Feevale University and the Pontifical Catholic University of São Paulo (PUC-SP) are the first institutions of higher education in Brazil to enter into partnership with Allegorithmic company for the use of Substance Designer software in their undergraduate courses.

According to the company, the tool enables the work of creating textures, treating its construction in different ways and providing extremely small files

. According to Alessandro Peixoto de Lima, Digital Games course instructor Feevale for many years only used Adobe Photoshop main textures creation tool models games and film, but the new software can change this process.

For classes this semester, the institution has 26 software licenses, which will be used in the classroom and made available to students enrolled in the course.

“The students have access to software in advanced 3D disciplines and advanced topics in games. The method of creating textures is through graphs, which seems to be the trend of software for games, “says Lima.

The tool is also available for student use in the course lab.
