Software and IT services generate $ 25.2 billion – Baguette (press release)

The information was disclosed by the Brazilian Association of Software Companies from an IDC survey.

The study points out that Brazil is positioned in 1st place in the ranking of investment in the sector IT in Latin America, with 46% of the market which totaled US $ 128 billion in 2014.

When alone consider the software market, revenue increased last year the mark of US $ 11.2 billion without exports. The services market recorded value of about US $ 14 billion in the same period.

According to the survey, the Brazilian market for software and services is led by micro and small businesses. Companies dedicated to software development and production, almost 95% are micro and small businesses.

According to the study, the southeast was the region with the highest overall participation in the investments in hardware, software and services, with 60 67%. The South recorded 14.53%; the Midwest, 10.9%; and the Northeast, 10.1%. But the north of the country was left with a percentage of 3.7%.

The application sector was the most participatory in 2014, with 44% of the total invested. Business oriented development environment accounted for 31.3%. Already infrastructure and security, and the software segment for export, recorded 22.7% and 1.9% share respectively.
